As part of our ongoing commitment to provide the best service and greatest care to our patients,
4 SIGHT Opticians has invested in a fantastic new piece of equipment, which makes diagnosis
and monitoring for numerous eye conditions far more accurate and accessible.
With our new 3D-OCT, your optician will have the ability to see far more detail than ever before –
using a fast, painless, and comfortable procedure, which robotically acquires 50,000 scans per
second to create a three-dimensional, cross-sectional image map of your retina at the back of
your eye.

Being able to see the deeper structural layers of your retina (which are normally obscured using
traditional examination techniques) allows your optician to detect signs of potentially serious eye
diseases sooner, before they affect your sight. This allows better management and referral for
conditions such as:
- Glaucoma
- Macula Degeneration
- Diabetic Retinopathy
- Macula Hole & VMT
- Retinal Vascular Occlusions
Advanced 3D-OCT is now included as part of our “Enhanced Eye Examination”, and will
be available in our Codsall practice in Autumn 2023.
